Tell us about your own journey and how your experiences have changed the way you look at motherhood and parenting.
Becoming a mother myself has changed my perception and given me a better understanding of what families go through. It is an immense transition for most that craves and deserves support and attention. I had my two little guys 18 months apart which was extremely challenging on my relationships with others and mostly with myself. Getting the help and guidance that I needed to overcome my struggles was paramount in becoming not only a better mother, but a better person in general. This has greatly fueled me to guide and educate mamas and families so that they can be empowered to be the best that THEY can be!
Tell us a little about your nursing career.
I was always extremely interested by human anatomy and science, and I knew that I wanted to help people in my community. As the eldest child in my family, I quickly became accustomed to caring for my younger siblings. Nursing seemed like the perfect fit for me, because it combined medicine as well as the most important ingredient: support and nurturing. I immediately fell in love with the world of nursing and the opportunities that it could provide me.
Antea is an AMAZING person and mom. She absolutely changed my daughter’s sleep patterns, and now she sleeps through the night peacefully, as well as naps during the day. What I thought was something achievable, Antea turned into a reality. She was so patient, caring, and helpful every step of the way. It not only changed my daughter’s sleep schedule but also changed her overall mood. In consequence we have a happier baby, and a happier mama ;)! I would highly recommend Antea for any of your family’s needs with your little ones! Thank you again Antea!
What are the two most important lessons you've learned working with moms, babies, and families?
1. Hospital stays are getting shorter, meaning support at home is that much more needed. I am here to bridge that gap.
2. Every baby and family is unique, and it is vital to look at things holistically and work together to get the best results possible.
If you had one bit of advice to give to a new parent, what would it be?
Create your support system in pregnancy and know the resources that are available to you. Bringing home a newborn is overwhelming and exhausting, so you want to be prepared to get the help that you need as soon as you require it!
Self-care is a big challenge for parents. How do you maintain your own energy and outlook?
It's important for me to disconnect and enjoy time with a close friend as often as possible. Even if it just is an hour a week. It is rejuvenating to remember who you are as a person outside of motherhood so that you can return recharged. I also enjoy working out at home and in the outdoors to regulate stress, which makes me feel empowered as a mother.
Is there anything we've missed that you'd like to share with Mama Coach clients?
I am passionate about helping mothers navigate through motherhood; it is my calling to be there for you! I am happy to meet you and work with you to meet your family's goals. We are in this together!
